Hawaii Girl Power

2023 Hawaii State VEX IQ Robotics Champions

Our team spent hundreds of hours designing, programming, and competing with this year’s robot in order to become the best in the state, and our efforts paid off on January 28th when we took the title of Teamwork Challenge Champions for the State of Hawai’i. The win came with a seat in the VEX Robotics 2023 World Championship competition held in Dallas, TX from April 25th to May 4th.

The VEX Robotics World Championship brings together the top VEX IQ Competition, VEX Robotics Competition, and VEX U teams from around the globe to celebrate their accomplishments and compete to be crowned champions. Over 1,600 competitors from more than 40 countries will compete for the top prizes.

Excellence in robotics comes at a cost. Sometimes the cost comes in the form of hard work and perseverence – we’ve got that covered.

Sometimes the costs are the more traditional $$$ kind, and that’s where you can support us.

Special thanks to our sponsor, Tsuha Foundation – a private foundation that envisions a more equitable world. Mahalo for making the future a place filled with ideas and creation.

This year, our team estimates financial costs to approach $8K, which includes travel and accomodations for our team + coach/mentor, entry fee, and Hawaii-themed souveniers to hand out to our fellow competitors from all over the world.

Ways to support Hawaii Girl Power:

  1. Contribute cash donations through our GoFundMe site.
  2. Purchase our Zippy’s Fundraiser tickets. Each $10 ticket that is purchased earns our team $4.50 toward our goal. Now that’s a tasty deal that’s easy to swallow. Contact anyone from Island Robotics or use the Contact Us form below.
  3. Donate Hawaii-themed gifts to hand out at our booth. Help spread Hawaii’s message of aloha to our fellow competitors from all over the world. Past booths have distributed stickers, keychains, and similar small items.
  4. Spread the word so that potential sponsors can find out how to help.
  5. High-5’s, fist bumps, and words of praise 🙂
